Planned Maintenance Works
Work Type: IT Services require 2 maintenance Windows on Thursday and Friday to implement a firmware patch and recommended configuration changes from our vendor. These maintenance windows will be at 06.00am to 07.30am on both days details are below:

Work Type #1: Core Network Maintenance Window
Description of Works
During the maintenance window several updates will be applied to the Dublin Main Campus network infrastructure. This will result in a series of short 10 min outages for all services while the updates are being applied. We aim to complete all changes on or before 7.30am
Services Unaffected
Themis, Zoom, and Microsoft Office online are all hosted in the cloud and will not be affected by these works.

On campus hosted services will be affected during this window. Services include;
• Internet access on South Circular Road campus
• Griffith.ie
• VPN Access
• Moodle / Videos of Recorded Classes
• Attendance
• MyGriffith
• Directory
• Knuth (Computing Science)
• Editshare (Create Arts & Screen Media)
• Printing
• On campus Wi-Fi
• Remote Desktop Access
• BMS
• Student & Staff network drives
• Mercury Halls Of Residence Platform
• HAMS Salto

Work Type #2: GHR Maintenance Window
Description of Works
During the maintenance window Wi-Fi in GHR Block 1 will be unavailable for the maintenance window while we replace network infrastructure. The College has robust backup infrastructure in place that will provide continuity for all other services during this maintenance window. During the upgrade our network will automatically monitor the available links and fail over to our secondary links where necessary to provide continued services. There will be short interruptions of services for several minutes as our backup systems take over during any work on the switches in our COMS room. As a result of these backup links, we do not foresee any significant downtime for any of our services during this window
Services Affected
On campus hosted services will be affected during this window. Services include;
• Halls of Residence Wi-Fi
All Other services will remain online.
